‘Gender: Charity & Care’ conference organised by Gender and Medieval Studies and the CKHH from Wednesday 2nd July to Saturday 5 July 2025 at Canterbury Christ Church University, CT1 1QU.

The conference will Celebrate GMS’s great reputation for kindness, inclusivity and friendliness at this year’s conference in Canterbury with the theme of Gender: charity and care in the global Middle Ages. Be inspired by love, charity and care to consider gendered literary, political/historical, and theological texts and responses, all forms of religious belief and none, and social/socio-economic, and environmental explorations of the subject from caring to apocalyptic climate emergency.

The conference lunch booking is separate, and the cost is not included within the conference fee.

Kate Westoby Travel Fund - Donation

Each year the steering committee and the conference organizers try to raise money to replenish the fund. Postgraduates whose own universities or other grant-awarding bodies are unable to help them are eligible to apply for help from the Kate Westoby fund. This includes students who wish to attend the conference but who are not giving papers.

This is the payment portal for the CCCU Archaeology International Field School 2025. Before paying the course fee, ensure that you have contacted the CCCU archaeology team and have had approval to attend the course. The fee covers accommodation and tuition of the course. The course runs for 6 weeks from the 19th of May to the 27th of June, with 2 weeks teaching in Canterbury and 4 weeks of archaeological excavation in Sussex.
